Katie Couric has a depressing mystery on her hands: At 2am every Tuesday, a phone line registered to her husband calls 911. The depressing part: Her husband, Jay Monahan, has been dead since 1998. There have been at least 10 calls so far, and each time a patrol officer has responded to Couric's home. Couric told the story to her audience during a break while taping her talk show this week, and audience members passed it on to the New York Daily News.

"Katie said it was especially disturbing because it came in on her late husband Jay Monahan’s landline, which she has kept all this time," says one audience member. Couric called NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly for help, and he started an investigation. Authorities think someone might be illegally hijacking the phone via a device, according to a police source.
