It wasn't a ruse: The man sought in last weekend's hit and run in Brooklyn that killed a young couple and their infant son surrendered as promised today. Police took Julio Acevedo into custody without incident at a supermarket parking lot in northeastern Pennsylvania after a friend arranged it, reports the AP. The 44-year-old is expected to be extradited to New York shortly to face charges. “He walked up to the car and got in,” a witness tells the Daily News. “No words or nothing.” (More car accident stories.)
