Prince William and wife Kate donned their green today to ring in St. Patrick's Day with a ceremony honoring the Irish Guards, who apparently seized their moment to grill the duchess on—what else—the royal baby. As People reports, Kate was a little more forthcoming than usual, telling a guardsman that while she doesn't know the baby's gender, "I'd like to have a boy and William would like a girl." Adds the guard: "I asked her if she had any names and she said no." Another guard says he helpfully informed her that her nights of full sleep were about to end: "She said she was prepared for it," he says. (More Kate Middleton stories.)
