A Marine killed two fellow Marines and then himself at a Virginia base last night, the AP reports. Authorities say it was an isolated incident, probably triggered by a relationship dispute at the Quantico base, reports NBC News. Two males and a female are dead. The shooter killed his male victim first, then seized his female victim before killing her and himself inside the barracks, says a base spokesman. Earlier reports that the shooter had barricaded himself in a standoff were untrue, says the base commander. All three were staffers at the camp's Officer Candidate School, reports the Washington Post.

“This is truly a tragic loss for the Marine Corps, which has had a number of tragic losses in the last couple of weeks," added the commander. "It's been a long night." (Read more Quantico stories.)
