Matt Salmon is no Rob Portman. The Arizona congressman made some waves this weekend, when he told AZ Family that he doesn't support "the gay marriage," even though his son is openly gay. "I’m just not there as far as believing in my heart that we should change 2,000 years of social policy in favor of a redefinition of the family. I'm not there," he said. “My son is one of the most important people in my life. I love him more than I can say.” He added that he didn't believe homosexuality was a choice.

"It doesn't mean I don't sympathize," Salmon said. "It means I haven't evolved to that station. Rob Portman apparently has." The admission comes as fresh gay marriage supporters are pouring out of the woodwork in Congress. Sen. Bob Casey became the latest to flip yesterday, Politico reports. The Pennsylvania Democrat says he came around after reading letters from his LGBT constituents. "These stories had a substantial impact on my position," he said in a statement.
