Video Spurs Mystery: Are These Women Twins?
Samantha Futerman and Anais Bordier   (Kickstarter)

The Internet is best known as a giant repository of cat pictures and Downfall parodies, but occasionally it has other uses. Case in point: Two South Korea-born women who met thanks to a YouTube video and connected via Facebook believe they are twin sisters separated at birth and have now raised more than $30,000 on Kickstarter to reunite, reports the San Francisco Chronicle. It sounds unbelievable until you hear the full story. Anaïs Bordier, a French fashion student in the UK, was shown a clip by some friends of an LA actress with remarkably similar looks. A Google search revealed the same birthday, and the fact that Samantha Futerman was also adopted. Anaïs reached out on Facebook—and found out they were born in the same city.

The pair took their story to Kickstarter, where they have successfully raised enough funds ($36,000 and counting) to meet, get DNA testing, and make a documentary of their story. "There is little doubt in my mind that we are twins," Samantha wrote on the page. "It would seem only possible for us to be unrelated in a wacky, alien, zombie existing, clone-producing, twilight universe... I have an innate unconditional love towards this stranger." No matter what happens, this film is guaranteed an incredible ending. (More YouTube stories.)
