Bad: Dad accidentally eats his kid's marijuana-laced cake. Worse: Dad gets sick. Worst of all: Dad just happens to be the local police chief. That's the strange tale from Laurelville, Ohio, courtesy of the Logan Daily News. Chief Mike Berkemeier is fine now, but he ended up in the hospital after he wolfed down a piece of cake sitting on the kitchen counter and soon discovered that he couldn't think straight.

As doctors tried to figure out what was going on, his fiance called their daughter and asked about the cake. His daughter screamed. “I could hear it from the hospital bed," recalls Berkemeier. "I could hear it over my fiance’s phone." She hung up, told the doctors that the cake had cannabis oil, and the doctors gave the chief a sedative so he could sleep it off. It doesn't appear that dad will be pressing charges. (More Laurelville, Ohio stories.)
