(AP Photo/The Canadian Press, Frank Gunn) One of the two men detained in Canada on charges that he planned a terrorist attack on a passenger train tried a novel approach in court today: Chiheb Esseghaier made the case that Canada's criminal code doesn't apply to him because it is not the "holy book," reports the Toronto Star. In what the AP calls a "rambling" statement, the 30-year-old apparently tried to argue that he is not accountable to laws written by mere mortals. Alas, the judge didn't buy it.
