Man Shoots Adult Daughters With Kids in House
A California man shot his two adult daughters on Monday, killing one and critically injuring the other before apparently committing suicide.   (Spectators News)

An 8-year-old girl dialed 911 at 4:39am yesterday to report a shooting, and the story gets worse from there. Police say the child's 63-year-old grandfather, Anthony Alvarez, shot his two adult daughters before taking his own life—while the girl and her two brothers were in the Orosi, Calif., home, the Fresno Bee reports. Jennifer Kimble, 37, was killed after being struck by several bullets; she was mom to the young girl and the 11- and 13-year-old boys.

Kimble's sister, Valerie Alvarez, 33, is at a hospital in critical condition. The children, who were not harmed, are now with their father, who was working when the shooting occurred. The AP notes that there's no word on motive yet, but police have little doubt about the series of events: "It's a very cut-and-dried case," says a sheriff's rep. (More Anthony Alvarez stories.)
