A reminder to parents that it's sometimes wise to exercise veto power over the kids' ideas: A couple has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child after motorists on the Pennsylvania Turnpike saw them tooling along in a pickup truck with a young girl in the back—inside a dog cage, reports the Pittsburgh Tribune. In fact, the 10-year-old was sharing quarters with a small dog. When police finally caught up with the truck in Millvale, driver Thomas Fishinger explained that the girl asked to ride with the pooch.
