Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito reunited in New York Tuesday, and of course the British tabloid that has the exclusive photos describes the rendezvous in sweeping terms: They engaged in a "passionate embrace" during their "secret meeting," the Mirror breathlessly reports. (So secret that photographers were able to get 11 pictures of them walking the streets.) They were joined by Knox's mother, but the boyfriend Knox is said to live with in Seattle was notably absent.

"They just looked like a normal couple who had been with each other a long time," says an onlooker of Knox and Sollecito, who apparently "still holds a huge torch for Amanda. He clearly finds her captivating. When they hugged she closed her eyes as he gave her a tender kiss on her cheek," the onlooker adds. Just hours before the meeting, Italy's top court explained why Knox and Sollecito must be retried for the murder of Meredith Kercher. Asked about it by the Mirror, Knox refused to comment, but Sollecito said, "We have everything to do now. We have a lot of planning." (More Amanda Knox stories.)
