Nate Silver, celebrity political statistician and former baseball analyst, has just thrown the New York Times a curveball: He's departing his longtime home at the paper for a gig at ESPN. Nate Silver's contract at the Times, where he soared to fame for his election predictions, is due to expire next month, the paper reports. His role at ESPN isn't yet clear: He's expected to continue to write as well as act as a contributor to Keith Olbermann's upcoming show. He'll also have work at ABC News during election years, the Times notes. (More Nate Silver stories.)
