Guess it's never too early. As speculation abounds about a Hillary Clinton 2016 presidential run, conservatives are already gearing up against her. Case in point: a Stop Hillary PAC, incorporated in May. The organization is full of lower-level political figures, with Colorado state Sen. Ted Harvey in charge; a number of strategists and former political aides are also involved. "We’re supporting anything that is the opposite of Hillary," says Garrett Marquis, an adviser to John McCain during his 2008 presidential run.
The group is looking to connect with voters at a grassroots level as it seeks small donors, CNN notes. "We will play however needed, wherever Hillary is playing," Marquis says. "If she endorses in the Virginia governor’s race, we will go there. Assuming she is active in Iowa, we will be there, too, and we will make some considerable noise." This week, the group is planning to release a video. And it's not the only organization already fighting a hypothetical Clinton run: There's also the similarly named Stop Hillary 2016, which formed last month under ex-Mitt Romney campaign manager Matt Rhoades.
