Caroline Kennedy is rolling in the Benjamins—a lot more of them than previously believed, according to newly released documents. Fresh off her nomination to become the next ambassador to Japan, Kennedy was required to file financial information with the US Office of Government Ethics. What the paperwork reveals: a personal fortune of between $250 million and $500 million, according to a legal expert who reviewed the documents.

"From the figures, it looks like she earns between $12 million and $30 million a year from her trust and from her investments," the source tells the New York Post. Add to that another $1 million a year through speaking engagements and book royalties. It's a big bump up from the $100 million to $250 million she was estimated to be worth in 2008, when she refused to reveal her financial info while she briefly pursued the Senate seat vacated by Hillary Clinton. The filings' other revelation: Kennedy says she'll step down from a number of roles, including with Institute of Politics at Harvard and the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, to avoid "a conflict of interest."
