When a former senator from Massachusetts visits the Iowa State Fair, you can bet it's not because he craves fried dough and ring toss. So when the Boston Herald asked, Scott Brown didn't deny that he was visiting because he has presidential ambitions. "I want to get an indication of whether there’s even an interest," he said. "It's 2013, I think it's premature, but I am curious. There's a lot of good name recognition in the Dakotas and here."

Fair-goers aren't the only ones Brown is polling; he's been meeting with some of the Republican party's top figures recently, and last week held an RNC event at Fenway Park. (More Scott Brown stories.)
