Amanda Bynes' doctors think she should remain at the UCLA Medical Center at least through the end of the year, Radar reports. Bynes' mom is seeking permanent conservatorship over her troubled daughter (she was granted temporary conservatorship earlier this month), and the doctors will be submitting their recommendation to a judge as part of her bid. Though "there has been some improvement" in Bynes' condition, a source says, "her diagnosis is complex, and the appropriate drug cocktail to treat her hasn’t been achieved yet."

"She has her good days and bad days, and the goal is obviously to get her therapeutic and stable before being released," the source continues, noting that Bynes has not been officially diagnosed with schizophrenia but is nonetheless being treated with schizophrenia drugs. Her mom "needs to be granted permanent conservatorship because Amanda wouldn’t agree to continue with treatment," the source adds. A decision will be made at a September 30 hearing.
