In fitting news for the weekend of Friday the 13th, low-budget horror sequel Insidious: Chapter 2 frightened the box office with a $41 million opening—the second best September opening of all time, reports the Hollywood Reporter. The weekend's only other opening, mob comedy The Family, came in a distant second with $14.5 million. Last week's winner, Riddick, dropped into No. 3 with only $7 million; Lee Daniels' The Butler was No. 4 with $5.6 million; and We're the Millers was No. 5 with $5.4 million.
