Randall Kerrick, the cop accused of shooting an unarmed man in Charlotte on Saturday, didn't just fire at 24-year-old Jonathan A. Ferrell—he fired 12 times, hitting Ferrell with 10 of those shots, say authorities, per the Charlotte Observer. Kerrick has been charged with voluntary manslaughter and released on a $50,000 bond; he will appear in court tomorrow. Ferrell's mother says she forgives Kerrick, but that he "took a piece out of my heart that can never be put back. A piece of me is gone," reports the Observer. (Read more Randall Kerrick stories.)
