Not to be outdone by Yahoo's big reveal, Google has revamped its logo, though it's not quite as big of a change as you might expect. Basically, it's been flattened, reports Mashable, which has a before and after comparison of the "extremely subtle" change, revealing a new logo that's lost some outside shading. To be fair, the logo isn't entirely new; the company has been using it for years, just not on the homepage. The "refined ... color palette and letter shapes" are part of an updated design of the Google Bar, the company announced in a blog post. The new bar will be able to launch platforms like Maps, YouTube, and Gmail, and will be available "across most Google products over the next few weeks." (More Google stories.)
