A Colorado woman has confessed to beating a homeless man to death with a baseball bat, but claims she did it because her daughter told her he "had touched and sexually abused her." Forsythia Owen, 30, told cops she attacked Denzle Rainey, 42, in an alleyway, while he was sleeping, ABC 7 reports. Rainey was found early Sunday morning, bleeding and wounded, and died shortly after, the Denver Post reports. He suffered a skull fracture, six broken ribs, a broken left hand, and two broken arms in the attack, KKTV reports.

Before being taken into custody by police, Owen wrote, "Going to prison!" on her Facebook page, the Post reports. Cops say she has a long criminal record with multiple assaults on it—including one against a cop. Rainey's widow says her late husband struggled with alcohol—which is why he was living rough—but claimed he would never abuse a kid. "I don’t think my husband is doing that," she says, per ABC 7. "I think she is covering up for somebody. And I want to know: What was the real reason why she did (that) to my husband? He doesn’t deserve to be dead right now." (More pedophile stories.)
