70-Year-Old Escapee Caught After 36 Years
The newly arrested Michael Morrow.   (Garland County Sheriff's Office)

Had he stayed put in state prison after being convicted of armed robbery in 1973, Michael Morrow would likely be a free man by now. Instead, the 70-year-old is back behind bars after 36 years as a fugitive, reports the OC Weekly. Morrow escaped from the California prison at Chino in 1977 and finally got picked up yesterday living under an alias in Jessieville, Ark. A cold-case task force matched his fingerprints to an arrest made in 1984 of a man named Carl Frank Wilson. It turns out that Wilson and Morrow are one and the same. Morrow had been sentenced to five years to life or 10 years minimum under his original offense, reports the LA Times. (More fugitive stories.)
