Two New York men have been arrested for an alleged plot to aid Taliban fighters—by keeping them warm in the winter. The NYPD yesterday announced the arrest of Humayoun Ghoulan Nabi, 27, and Ismael Alsarabbi, 32, who allegedly conspired with a department informant to supply winter clothes to the Taliban, the New York Times reports. "The defendants stated that the source of the Americans' strength is their equipment, specifically good jackets, good goggles, good GPS," the complaint says.

The cabal allegedly met with a clothing supplier, and staked out a warehouse where the clothes could be stored. They also allegedly wired $2,000 to Lahore, Pakistan. They never actually collected or sent any clothing. They're charged with second-degree soliciting or providing support for an act of terrorism, and fifth-degree conspiracy. But a lawyer for Alsarabbi said his client was duped by a paid government informant. "They frequently entrap people who are young and opinionated," the lawyer said. "It is an outrage."
