Cheerios is going old school, relatively speaking. All boxes of the original-flavor cereal will soon have this label: "Not Made With Genetically Modified Ingredients." General Mills already uses non-GMO oats for Original Cheerios, but now the company says it will use non-GMO cornstarch and sugar as well. The change doesn't apply to other Cheerios flavors, and even the Original variety will have a qualifier in the fine print: The boxes will say that trace amounts of GMO ingredients could be present because of contamination during the manufacturing process.
