Matthew McConaughey and American Hustle are beginning to make the Oscars look sort of inevitable, adding Screen Actors Guild Awards wins last night to their Golden Globes. McConaughey again took home the lead actor award for Dallas Buyers Club, which also earned Jared Leto a best supporting actor award, while Cate Blanchett added another win for best actress for Blue Jasmine. Jennifer Lawrence, though, was this time shut out of best supporting actress (though she did apparently coin a risque new term on the red carpet), as Lupita Nyong'o won for 12 Years a Slave. But American Hustle took home the evening's top prize, outstanding cast in a motion picture, reports USA Today. "He is an actor's director," Bradley Cooper said of director David O. Russell, in accepting the award. "He is the reason why we all wanted to become actors as children."
On the television side of things, Breaking Bad won for outstanding dramatic cast, as well as lead actor for Bryan Cranston. "We have the nicest bunch of white supremacist Nazis I have ever worked with," said Cranston, as per the AP. "I swear to you I would kill you all over again." (More Screen Actors Guild stories.)
