The world laughed a few weeks back when the Lamar County Sheriff's Office in Texas issued a sketch of a suspect sought in an armed robbery—because it looked more like a Muppet than a human, explains the Houston Chronicle. (It's either among the "greatest" or the "worst" police sketches of all time, says BuzzFeed and the Independent, respectively.) Well, the world isn't laughing anymore. Or at least, it's not laughing at the sketch artist, just the newly arrested suspect.
Police in Paris, Texas, arrested Glenn Edwin Rundles, 32, when an officer familiar with him thought he fit the bill. Rundles is accused of robbing two women at knifepoint, and it was their descriptions that informed the composite sketch. Rundles apparently saw a similarity, too. "He started to try and hide his identity after he saw the sketch in the papers, and even had the tattoo on his neck covered up with another design," says a local deputy. (More police sketch stories.)
