Madonna Directing Her 3rd Movie

Madonna will direct her third film, an adaptation of a novel by the daughter of The Color Purple author Alice Walker. Ade: A Love Story, Rebecca Walker's first novel, is about a 19-year-old US student who travels to Africa and falls in love with a Muslim man, according to the Hollywood Reporter; Madonna is a fan of the book. The narrator is similar to Walker herself, having a Christian mother and a Jewish father; Walker's father is civil rights lawyer Mel Leventhal.
