Pilot Crashes Into Home, Finds He Used to Own It

A lucky escape and what appears to be a stunning coincidence in Northglenn, Colo.: A pilot crashed a small plane into a home, only to discover that it was one that he sold in 2003, reports ABC7. Pilot Brian Veatch was towing a banner when the plane ran into trouble and he crashed into the roof of the home, suffering only minor injuries. Nobody was home at the time and Veatch, who also works as a firefighter, tried to put out the fire caused by the crash himself before the fire department arrived.

Veatch was treated at the scene but wasn't taken to the hospital, 9News reports. He confirmed that he used to own the home but says he didn't realize it until he was asked about it after the crash. Firefighters say two dogs and a lizard were rescued from the home, which suffered extensive damage from the crash and fire. A police department spokesman says the cause of the crash is still unknown, but he suspects the Piper PA-25 Pawnee's engines failed. (More plane crash stories.)
