Collette Moreno never made it to her bachelorette party. The 26-year-old Missouri bride-to-be was on her way there Friday afternoon when she and her best friend, who was driving, got in a car accident in Morgan County that killed Moreno. Moreno and maid-of-honor Ashley Theobald were en route to Lake of the Ozarks on a two-lane road; just eight minutes before the crash, Moreno took a selfie of them driving along happily while listening to Taylor Swift. Then they got stuck behind a semi whose exhaust started to bother Moreno. "She had bad asthma," a sobbing Theobald tells KCTV. "She started coughing." So Theobald tried to pass the truck. She thought her way was clear, but she didn't see a Dodge Ram cresting a hill and coming toward them.

Both drivers swerved, but the Ram hit the passenger side of Theobald's Chevy Malibu, and it left the road and crashed. All three people involved were wearing seat belts; neither Theobald nor the Ram driver suffered serious injuries. "I was talking to her" after the crash, Theobald tells Fox 4. "She couldn't talk back but she was nodding at me. I didn't know it was as bad as it was because she wasn't physically super beaten-up." Theobald likely won't be criminally charged but will face traffic charges of careless and imprudent driving; authorities say she was in a no-passing zone, KCTV notes. Moreno, who leaves behind a 5-year-old son, was set to be married next month in Jamaica. (On Saturday, a young couple was killed in a freak accident hours after posting a picture of a sunset to Instagram.)
