It is one bright spot in an otherwise horrible story: The 15-year-old girl who survived the mass shooting that killed her parents and four siblings is out of the hospital and expected to make a full recovery, reports the Houston Chronicle. Cassidy Stay was tied up and shot with the rest of her family inside their house in Spring, Texas, but she survived by playing dead, recounts ABC News. In fact, she was able to alert police that the alleged shooter, Ron Lee Haskell, was on his way to her grandparents' house, and authorities credit her with saving their lives. Cassidy's mom is the sister of Haskell's ex-wife, and he was demanding to find out where his ex was, say police. He allegedly showed up at the house in the guise of a FedEx deliveryman and kicked in the door after Cassidy turned him away. The 33-year-old collapsed in court yesterday.
