Divorce proceedings between Paul McCartney and Heather Mills will continue into next week, the BBC reports, amid media speculation that a confidentiality pact is holding up what is likely to be a record financial settlement. The private hearing in a London court was scheduled to end today but will extend at least through Monday.

THe delay is due in part to Mills' decision to defend herself, the Telegraph reports. The ex-Beatle's net worth is estimated at $1.6 billion, and some outlets predict Mills could re-enter single life $120 million richer. Details of the bitter divorce case are scarce: The presiding judge has reportedly threatened both McCartney and Mills with hefty fines for leaking details. (More Paul McCartney stories.)
