Missing Oregon Mom's Death Ruled a Suicide

Just a day after finding missing Oregon mom Jennifer Huston's body, officials are ruling her death a suicide. Her husband first reported her missing after she left to run errands on the evening of July 24; the last known footage of her shows her entering a Rite Aid pharmacy, where she bought sleeping pills, Gatorade, and trail mix, reports NBC News. Police say she was found dead of asphyxiation about 40 yards from her SUV in Sheridan, Ore., while an empty box of sleeping pills and a note to her family were found inside the vehicle, reports KIRO-FM.

"We don't know what led Jennifer to this dark place and to this end and perhaps never will understand this," her family said in a statement. They also thanked "family, friends, community, and media" for helping launch a two-week search effort that extended to Washington earlier this week when a couple told police they thought they saw her boarding a ferry headed for the San Juan Islands.
