Miami built a large lead early in the second half and was able to hit free-throws down the stretch to preserve the win. Dwayne Collins led the Hurricanes with 27 points, according to the Associated Press. Elsewhere in men’s basketball: The No. 11 Wisconsin Badgers got 18 points from Trevon Hughes and 17 from Marcus Landry to defeat Illinois 71-57 and move into a first-place tie with Purdue for the Big Ten lead. Steve Harley’s career-best 20 points led Nebraska to a 71-64 victory over Michael Beasley and No. 24 Kansas. Beasley had 17 points and 10 rebounds.
