Beer is going to flow like water under the cobblestone streets of Bruges, Belgium, through the country's first beer pipeline. The 500-year-old De Halve Maan brewery is based in the heart of the medieval town, and its director tells AFP they want to keep making beer at the historic location but reduce truck traffic on the city's narrow streets. "The idea is born of environmental and quality of life concerns, and not economic ones," he says. The pipeline will carry the suds to a bottling plant 2 miles away. The only other beer pipeline in the world supplies drinkers at a huge stadium in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, according to FoodBeast. (More Bruges stories.)
