Lacey Spears, the "doting mom" accused of poisoning in the January death of her son Garnett, suggested the poisoning may actually have been the 5-year-old's fault, prosecutors say. According to documents prosecutors filed in court Friday, Spears told police hours after Garnett's death that the boy "would once in a while play with his feeding tube and could have put something in it," the Journal News reports. The New York woman, 26, is accused of pouring salt into her son's feeding tube over a period of four days in what could have been a case of Munchausen by proxy, in which a parent hurts a child in order to get sympathy. Garnett also suffered from inexplicably high sodium levels as a baby. (More Lacey Spears stories.)
