LA to Protesters: No Need to Pay Bail, Go Eat Dinner

"We have every legal right to keep them until they post bail," says a Los Angeles police commander—but the city won't. People who are currently in jail after being arrested in Los Angeles while protesting the Ferguson grand jury decision are being released in time for Thanksgiving dinner. They'll need to sign a paper saying they will appear in court, but they won't have to pay a dime of what would have likely been bail set at $500. Those excluded: anyone who happens to have a warrant out for his or her arrest. In the days following the decision not to indict Darren Wilson, 338 protesters have been arrested in LA; about 90 were still in jail as of this afternoon, reports the LA Times.
