Lisa N. Quam had never purchased a Powerball ticket before Thanksgiving. But that day, when she went to the store for pumpkin spice, she picked up two tickets—calling herself a "special occasions lottery player," according to KING 5—and it turns out to have been a really good decision. The Washington state woman and husband Everett ended up winning $90 million. "I am not a lucky person," Quam insists. "I think I won tickets to a concert or something on a radio station once. And I won $100 once. My husband says it's just dumb luck."

The couple has been married 32 years and has two kids; Quam says her first priority is to take care of her family. "We have student loans just like every family, house repairs. Maybe we'll buy a house for one of the kids," she said, according to NBC News. She also plans to buy a Subaru Forrester; both husband and wife will retire from their jobs at Boeing and then plan to travel, the AP reports. (More Powerball stories.)
