If your program has never been No. 1 before, the last thing you want to do is travel to a school that is 5-3 all-time at home against top-ranked teams. Tennessee got to do just that last night, and No. 18 Vanderbilt's 72-69 victory will likely knock the Vols from the top spot, reports the Associated Press. "I want to be ranked No. 1 at the end of the year," UT senior guard Chris Lofton said.

The Volunteers (25-3, 11-2) won't get that chance if they play like they did against the Commodores (24-4, 9-4).  Vanderbilt blew a 14-point lead in the first half, but moved out in front for good with 14:20 left in the second half of the SEC game. Shan Foster led the Commodores with 32 points, as they won their seventh straight game. It was Vandy's fourth straight home win over a top-ranked squad. (More NCAA stories.)
