There's no accounting for taste: Someone just spent $50,000 on a pair of Justin Bieber's Nike basketball shoes. Bieber's grandparents put the shoes and other personal items on eBay to raise money for an Ontario food bank, the AP reports. The auction ended at noon today. Also sold: a Toronto Maple Leafs comforter for more than $5,000; a pillowcase for nearly $3,000; and a ceiling light for more than $1,500. Bieber autographed each item, and his grandma signed a certificate of authenticity to go along with each one. (More Justin Bieber stories.)
