It may not be Pennyslvania Avenue, but Mike Bloomberg is seriously weighing a run for Albany's top job, a senior Republican operative has told the New York Post. "On two occasions in recent weeks, the mayor brought up the possibility of running for governor, of running against Spitzer in 2010," the Post's source claims.

Term limits keep Bloomberg from making a third run at mayor, but he thinks a dark-horse presidential candidacy may be shooting too high, according to the source. "He's saying he knows that the presidency is most likely beyond his grasp." Or maybe it's personal. "Mike Bloomberg doesn't like Spitzer," says the source. (More Michael Bloomberg stories.)
