Rumors of the demise of Cabela's leg were premature: The Florida mutt found shot and tied to railroad tracks, her front right leg shattered by a bullet, pulled off something of a miracle, reports WTSP. "Cabela came through surgery with flying colors and four legs," says the Tampa Bay Veterinary Emergency Service. "The surgeon decided to pin it instead of amputation. " Police, who stopped a train to pull off Cabela's last-minute rescue, still haven't found the perpetrator, but say they're still getting plenty of tips; there's a $5,500 reward in the case. "It just turns your stomach," says one cop. "I really don't know what else to say." Adds a neighbor: "Well, whoever it was, God will take care of them." The vet says it'll be about two months before they know if Cabela will regain her full range of motion. To donate or get on the list to adopt Cabela, go here. (More animal abuse stories.)
