"We extend our heartfelt sympathy and concern for the family and loved ones of our missing guest." That's the sad statement from Carnival Cruise officials following the news that a Virginia Tech student fell from one of its ships early Sunday. The unnamed 21-year-old male was confirmed to have fallen from the Carnival Glory after a review of the ship's video. The Coast Guard launched a 6,500-square-nautical-mile search after learning of the incident on Sunday; the search was suspended at sunset last night. The Carnival Glory had left Miami on Saturday, and the search was launched from an area near Abaco Island, Bahamas, reports WSLS 10. (More Carnival Cruise Lines stories.)
