The South Korean man who slashed Mark Lippert so severely that the US ambassador needed 80 stitches in his face is expected to face attempted murder charges. Kim Ki-jong attacked Lippert to protest US-South Korea military drills, and police say that although Kim claims he only wanted to wound the ambassador, he attacked with enough force to kill, the AP reports. Lippert left the hospital earlier this week and told reporters that he anticipates making a full recovery. North Korea, meanwhile, test-fired another seven missiles into the sea yesterday in what is seen as another protest against the drills, Reuters reports. South Korean military officials say they believe leader Kim Jong Un was present to observe the launches. (More Mark Lippert stories.)
