A University of South Carolina student allegedly tried to poison her roommates—an act that they appear to have caught on tape. Video available via WIS TV shows a woman apparently tampering with food in a refrigerator. According to police, that's Hayley King, a 22-year-old who had had "multiple altercations" with her two roommates not long before the Feb. 4 video was recorded on a hidden camera; those altercations aren't detailed in the police report. But authorities say she not only spat in the containers but also put glass cleaner in one container, ABC News reports. One roommate told officers she'd eaten some of the tainted food. King admitted to the actions in a recorded interview, per the police report.

King has been charged with unlawful malicious tampering with human drug product or food (a felony) and faces up to 20 years in prison. Her roommates—also University of South Carolina students, the Huffington Post reports—said she rejected their attempts to get her to move out following disagreements. The feuds got them worried about what King might do, so they decided to record her, they told police. WIS TV notes that one roommate also got a text, apparently from a friend of King's, saying the roommates had been "taunting (King) since the semester started" and if they didn't stop, the texter would "personally come and check you." King is due back in court next month, ABC reports. (Last year, police said a man strangled his roommate for eating his cookies.)
