The body of kayaker who went missing April 19 on the Hudson River, and whose fiancee stands charged with his murder, has been found. Forensic scientist Michael Archer tells NBC 4 the body found Saturday near the Cornwall Yacht Club has been "positively identified" as 46-year-old Vincent Viafore. Archer previously told the station, "the police have said that the clothing on the person found match what Mr. Viafore was last seen wearing." Viafore's 35-year-old fiancee, Angelika Graswald, is accused of tampering with his kayak, and allegedly said it "felt good knowing he was going to die."

Viafore's cause of death has yet to be determined; an autopsy has been performed. Graswald's defense attorney had this to say yesterday to the Poughkeepsie Journal: "I don't think that anything they will find is going to hurt her. I don't expect to see anything other than the classification of the cause of death to be accidental drowning or hypothermia, with alcohol as a contributing factor. Anything else would be a surprise."
