This Girl Scouts story via Seattle Met begins with good news: A generous donor gives $100,000. Then becomes bad news: The donor stipulates that none of the money be used for transgender girls, prompting the Girl Scouts of Western Washington to return it with a note: “Girl Scouts is for every girl. And every girl should have the opportunity to be a Girl Scout if she wants to.” But it ends with better news: A crowdfunding campaign launched as a result has so far exceeded the original $100,000. (The page is here at Indiegogo, but it wasn't loading of late.)

"This is the right thing to do, so there was not anything else to do other than return the gift,” says the local council's CEO, Megan Ferland. “And we need the $100,000 back so we can serve more girls. So we’re going to do everything we can to raise that money. And if it raises a ruckus, it raises a ruckus.” (More Girl Scouts stories.)
