It can be brutal to be a Jets fan: Linebacker Ikemefuna “IK” Enemkpali "sucker-punched" starting quarterback Geno Smith today during a locker room argument and busted his jaw, coach Todd Bowles says. Smith will be out six to 10 weeks, meaning he might miss the season opener. It's not clear what the fight was about, but it wasn't football, and it was apparently "something childish," says the coach, per Deadspin. The team immediately cut Enemkpali. Fights during training camp aren't uncommon, notes NBC Sports, but they usually take place on the field, with players in full pads. (More New York Jets stories.)
