John Kerry arrives in Havana tomorrow to reopen the American embassy, and Fidel Castro apparently wants him to bring a fat wallet. In an essay for his 89th birthday, Castro complains that the US owes his country lots and lots of money because of the trade embargo that's been in effect for more than a half-century now, reports AFP. "Cuba is owed compensation equivalent to damages, which total many millions of dollars," he writes. Though President Obama favors lifting the embargo as part of thawing relations, the decision is up to Congress, which is in no hurry to oblige. (More Fidel Castro stories.)
