After a big afternoon at the casino, a Northern California man's luck ran out when he was taken in by a fake damsel in distress. The Union Democrat reports the victim won $9,000 at the Chicken Ranch Casino on Thursday and was driving home when he spotted a pickup truck on the side of the highway near Chinese Camp. The truck had its hood up, and a woman standing next to it flagged the victim down.
When the victim pulled over to help her, an unseen man allegedly popped out and pointed a gun at him, the Union Democrat reports. Despite the victim's insistence he didn't have any money, the Tuolumne County Sheriff's Office says the suspect continued to demand the victim's casino winnings. The victim eventually handed over the $9,000, and the suspects drove off. (More robbery stories.)
