Rosie O'Donnell left The View earlier this year, but the constant drama that surrounded her stints on the show is not yet over. Jennifer Shepard-Brookman, a former producer on the talk show, is suing O'Donnell, claiming Rosie got her fired—among other things, Page Six reports. As Page Six reported back in March, Shepard-Brookman was fired for allegedly yelling at Rosie in front of the entire staff during a production meeting. But according to Shepard-Brookman's lawsuit, the trouble between the two started back in September 2014, when O'Donnell got mad at her for letting Whoopi Goldberg cover the ISIS beheading of US journalist James Foley. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the lawsuit claims that Rosie saw the move as just one of many times Shepard-Brookman "teamed up" with Whoopi to "undermine" Rosie.
After the Foley incident, "Ms. O'Donnell intimidated Ms. Brookman by screaming that she 'owned' the story and was upset that Ms. Goldberg covered the story, and by grabbing the arms of the chair in which Ms. Brookman was sitting, leaning very close to her face and prohibiting her from leaving," the lawsuit states. "My client started crying," says Shepard-Brookman's attorney. "She was scared of Rosie and thought she was going to be assaulted." Shepard-Brookman says O'Donnell went on to accuse Shepard-Brookman, during a meeting with other producers, of being the one who leaked stories to the media about Rosie's bad relationship with other View staffers; the lawsuit claims O'Donnell continued to spread those rumors, though Shepard-Brookman denies being the leaker.
