With one key player on crutches and another on the sidelines, No. 3 UCLA knew its was going to need help from other places in the Pac-10 championship game against No. 11 Stanford today. Luckily for the Bruins, Darren Collison was more than happy to help out, reports the Los Angeles Times. Collison scored 28 points to lead a 67-64 win over the Cardinal.
Luc Richard Mbah a Moute was nursing an injured ankle from Friday, and Kevin Love had back spasms most of the game. So Collison, James Keefe (8 points) and Russell Westbrook (11 rebounds) stepped up and led the Bruins to a three-game sweep of the Cardinal, including the team's two regular season matchups. Love did manage a critical 3-pointer with 6:06 left to give UCLA a 55-48 lead. (More NCAA stories.)
